Johnson is an executive leader with more than 15 years experience who comes to Ascension Michigan from Trinity Health at Home. Johnson and Rutherford have years of leadership experience in the health care industry, serving for both local and national health care organizations. Cecilia Rutherford was selected as vice president of nursing for Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital in Rochester Hills. John Hospital in Detroit and Ascension River District Hospital in East China (south of Port Huron). Warren-based Ascension Michigan named Shanna Johnson as COO of Ascension St. She did an excellent job, and helped to make the program better.Shanna Johnson // Photo courtesy of Ascension Michigan Over the years she became more and more involved with solving problems, so she became the obvious choice for Administrative Chief. As an oddity, she has the uncanny ability to answer any multiple choice question, even when she has absolutely no knowledge in the subject. She has excellent technical skills and great clinical judgement. Urva was a pleasure to have as a resident. She loves to travel and plans to get to 40 countries before she gets to 40 years old. When not working as a resident, she enjoyed movies, professional hockey (Toronto Maple Leafs fan), reading and she wanted to learn how to cook. George's University for Medical School obtaining her MD degree. Urva grew up in Canada, doing her undergraduate education at the University of Waterloo obtaining a degree in Biomedical Sciences. We are proud of the physician she became at Providence and know that this was just a beginning for her! She took some time off after residency, but eventually landed in a private practice. She did us a great service working as the Scheduling Chief her senior year. Christanna was probably the most talented painter to ever grace our halls! She was very caring and loved to advocate for her beliefs. She loves backpacking, and spent the summer before starting at Providence hiking the Kalalau Trail in Hawaii.ĭuring her residency, she left her mark. She really really really likes gardening, likely a result of her experience working a dairy farm in Osceola, Wisconsin. When not working as a resident, she was an exercise nut, doing crossfit. She subsequently went to Medical School at the University of Louisville where she obtained her MD. She attended Centre College, where she obtained a BA in Art History. We know she will do great things as a Reproductive Endocrinologist! Sheiva Tsay, MD Scheduling ChiefĬhristanna was raised in Louisville, Kentucky. While we will miss her, we are very proud to call her one of our graduates. She is pursuing a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in Georgia following graduation. She even had the honor of speaking at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine's annual meeting! She was front and center in every social event, always making sure everyone had a good time. She won just about every research award that is offered. In addition to her tremendous clinical acumen, she was one of the most prolific resident researchers we have ever had. During residency, she loved all forms of exercise and sport!ĭuring her residency, Sasha excelled. She absolutely loves rap music but hates carbs. She went to medical school at Saba University in the Caribbean. Sasha speaks 3 languages (Canadian, Arabic and French). She went to school at University of Toronto where she played on the varsity water polo team and got a degree in human biology and french literature. It is likely that she will eventually become a Program Director, unless she learns the word "no"! We absolutely wish her the best! It was a pleasure to work with her for four years! It is a forgone conclusion that she will be successful in practice. Her skills developed to a degree rarely seen with our graduates. She furthered her family, having another child! She was a wonderful resident and physician. She would do an "Ellen" dance every day in her living room with her Daughters.ĭuring residency, Mariko left her mark. When not working as a resident, she more or less played with her kids. While in Medical School, she met the love of her life and got first hand experience in OB by starting a family. She then attended Midwestern University in Glendale where she obtained her DO. After that, she spent 3 years working in Rehab. She also played volleyball while she was there. She went to Cal State University, Long Beach where she obtained a degree in Biology, Physiology and Chemistry. Mariko was born in the most beautiful place in the country, Phoenix Arizona.
